Sup, Let’s Talk Water
You already know you’re supposed to drink water. Everyone knows that. But here’s the thing — most of you aren’t doing it, and your body is out here sending distress signals you’re straight-up ignoring.
Headache at 3pm? Probably not your boss’s fault (well, maybe partly). Feeling tired even after sleeping 8 hours? Your cells are literally begging for hydration. Skin looking a little dull? Water. Always water.
How Much Is Enough?
Forget the “8 glasses a day” rule. That number was basically made up. Here’s what actually matters:
- Your body weight matters. Aim for roughly half your body weight in ounces. So if you weigh 160 lbs, that’s about 80 oz of water per day.
- Coffee doesn’t count. Sorry. Caffeine is a mild diuretic, meaning it actually works against you.
- If you’re thirsty, you’re already behind. Thirst is your body’s last-resort notification. Don’t wait for it.
